Privacy Policy

            Kaizen Timer is designed with complete privacy in mind. All your data stays on your device — we collect nothing, track nothing, and sell nothing.
        

The Short Version

Kaizen Timer stores all data locally on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. We cannot see your data, and we never will.

Data Storage

All your data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (UserDefaults). This includes:

Timer presets: Your custom workout configurations (work/rest durations, rounds, warmup, cooldown, phase schedules)
App settings: Theme preferences, haptic intensity, audio settings, language, screen-awake preference, and timer behavior options
Health settings: Your body weight (used locally for calorie estimation) and HealthKit preferences
Timer state: Temporary state saved to resume running timers after backgrounding

None of this data is ever transmitted off your device. There are no cloud services, no sync features, and no remote databases.

Apple Health Integration

Kaizen Timer can optionally write completed workout records to Apple Health. This feature is:

Off by default — you must explicitly enable it in Settings
Permission-based — iOS will ask for your authorization before any data is written
Write-only — the App writes workout duration and estimated calories burned; it does not read any existing Health data
Per-preset configurable — you can enable or disable Health logging for individual presets

Calorie estimates are calculated locally on your device using MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values and your configured body weight. This calculation happens entirely on-device.

Data written to Apple Health is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and your device's Health settings.

Data Collection

We collect absolutely no data:

No personal information (no name, email, phone number, or Apple ID)
No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
No advertising identifiers or fingerprinting
No third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking libraries
No crash reporting services
No network requests to any server (the App makes zero outbound connections)

No Account Required

Kaizen Timer does not require registration, sign-up, or any form of account creation. You open the App and start using it immediately. There is no login, no email verification, and no profile to manage.

Third Parties

Kaizen Timer does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms. The only external interaction is the optional Apple Health integration described above, which is a local on-device API provided by Apple.

Data Deletion

Delete the App, and all your data is permanently removed. Since everything is stored locally, uninstalling Kaizen Timer completely erases all presets, settings, and saved state.

You can also reset individual settings or delete presets from within the App at any time.

Children's Privacy

Kaizen Timer does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App contains no user-generated content sharing, no social features, and no communication capabilities.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
